Taken near my HDB block while I was out to shoot some dusk pictures (was too late for them...). Didn't have much time to change settings and shoot this picture, in the end I had to crop a bit (original picture is portrait-oriented). Was using F2.0 for this picture, but only saw it after the shots; nevertheless, I am happy with the result as the mother and her daughter are thus more being the centre of this picture.
On a sidenote: Jim Goldstein started a photography blog project called "In Your Own Backyard". I submitted this entry here, I'm really looking forward to the other entries and hope for a big participation.

Saw this lady talking to the coconut-selling uncle from across the street and managed to take two good shots.

Singapore has been from the beginning a multiracial society, with "Chinese 76.8%, Malay 13.9%, Indian 7.9%, other 1.4% (2000 census)". Seeing people of different races is an everyday thing, in HDBs there is a "minority ratio" that has to be fulfilled to prevent "one-race-only" areas and to keep the racial harmony in Singapore at a good level.
(Ok, I think the white guy was a tourist. Nevertheless, there are many Caucasian expats living in Singapore.)

Kind of liked this angle. I guess the Fullerton usually doesn't get shot this way.
